MICCO – There will be a new Tiki Bar on the water next to the Chubby Mullet at the Sebastian Inlet Marina in Micco, although it might take a year or two.
Don Pinder, General Manager of Chubby Mullet, told Sebastian Daily last week that there are plans to build the new Tiki Bar once the new sewer line is completed.
The sewer line is a project in Micco that’s been in the works since 2017. The project will help the Indian River Lagoon and local businesses in South Brevard. Restaurants on septic can only serve paperware and plastic utensils. The sewer project should be completed sometime this year.
The Tiki Bar in Micco will be raised at the same level as the parking lot. Although it doesn’t show it in the photos, it’s a big size lot that can accommodate a large bar with plenty of seating.
With the additional seats at the Chubby Mullet establishment, they will be eligible for a full liquor license to serve inside the restaurant and at the Tiki Bar. Additional parking will also have to be planned.
The location for the new Tiki Bar in Micco is the piece of land already surrounding the parking lot behind the fence. It’s a large enough property to put plenty of seats and maybe a stage for live entertainment.
With tourism numbers increasing each year during the season in Sebastian, some of the bars and restaurants are overcrowded. The new Tiki Bar will be another option for people.
In offseason, the bar can be a place to relax and enjoy the spectacular view.
The area is also one of the busiest locations for boaters since it’s right at the Sebastian Inlet Marina. The marina isn’t far from the Sandbar where boaters can take a break from the heat and relax at the Tiki Bar.
It could take a year or two, but it’s definitely a project in the works.
