MICCO – A small plane made a crash landing in a field along Micco Road in Brevard County on Monday afternoon.
The pilot, an instructor with Florida Institute of Technology, was practicing training maneuvers with a student passenger when the 1975 Cessna 150 filled up with smoke.
The pilot and student only suffered minor injuries, but the student was transported to Sebastian River Hospital for precautionary measures.
The plane took off from The Melbourne International Airport. It’s unclear where the aircraft was heading.
Investigators and the FAA are still investigating the crash.
