Gas prices drop during Christmas week in Sebastian, Florida.

Gasoline prices in Sebastian dropped another 4 cents per gallon last week, making it a 16-day trend during Christmas week.

The average price for gas in Indian River County is $2.52, and the average in South Brevard is $2.41. The gas stations in Micco, Grant, and Malabar are higher than in Sebastian. Vero Beach is still about 13 cents more than Sebastian.

However, Sebastian residents are still paying 18 cents higher than last year at this time.

“Elevated oil prices and issues at a massive Gulf Coast refinery are preventing prices at the pump from falling as fast as they did this time last year,” said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said.

The cheapest place to buy gas in Sebastian is at Murphy USA (Walmart) for $2.33 per gallon.

Holiday gas prices are still the highest in five years.
