SEBASTIAN – A 10-year-old girl caught a shark in the lagoon from the dock at the Main Street boat ramp Thursday evening.

“I just caught a shark! It was in the river,” Ella Rose Gibbs told Sebastian Daily.

After taking a photo with the shark, Ella released it back into the river.

The fourth grader, who attends Crosstyle Academy in Sebastian, used frozen head-on shrimp from Walmart as bait.

The girl’s father, Theo Britton Gibbs, said she’s excited about catching the shark because it’s her dream fish.

Congratulations Ella!
