This is an update on coronavirus cases in Sebastian, Florida. This report also contains COVID-19 data for Indian River County and Brevard County.

Fellsmere now has two cases.

The State of Florida is currently in Phase 1 ‘FULL’ of Florida opening. Phase 2 could be very soon if the daily numbers continue to drop.

We saw a spike of 1,160 for one day in the daily numbers, but the numbers again dropped.

Local:

  • Sebastian: 9 cases
  • Fellsmere: 2 cases
  • Palm Bay: 54 cases
  • Malabar: 1 case
  • Grant-Valkaria: 1 case
  • Barefoot Bay: 1 case
  • Micco: 0 cases
  • Vero Beach: 84 cases

Indian River County has a population of 154,000. The patients are 48 men and 49 women between the ages of 8 to 94.

Indian River County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 108 (11 non-residents)
  • Deaths: 9
  • Tested Negative: 3,116
  • Hospitalizations: 26

Brevard County has a population of 590,000. The patients are 159 men and 174 women between the ages of 1 to 94.

Brevard County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 371 (11 non-residents)
  • Deaths: 11
  • Tested Negative: 15,525
  • Hospitalizations: 53

The total number of cases, deaths, and people who have tested negative in Florida.

Florida

  • Cases: 46,944 (1,260 non-Florida residents)
  • Deaths: 2,052
  • Tested Negative: 668,911
  • Hospitalizations: 8,494

Here’s some data on the number of new cases per day in Florida:

  • 5/3 – 577 cases
  • 5/4 – 576 cases
  • 5/5 – 582 cases
  • 5/6 – 629 cases
  • 5/7 – 346 cases
  • 5/8 – 770 cases
  • 5/9 – 689 cases
  • 5/10 – 386 cases
  • 5/11 – 612 cases
  • 5/12 – 804 cases
  • 5/13 – 796 cases
  • 5/14 – 795 cases
  • 5/15 – 494 cases
  • 5/16 – 1,060 cases
  • 5/17 – 661 cases
  • 5/18 – 627 cases

So far, the new cases in Florida peaked on April 2nd at 1,292 and April 3rd with 1,314 cases.

The total number of cases, deaths, and people who have recovered from the virus around the world.

Sebastian

Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Hospital, is providing drive-through testing by appointments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. To make an appointment, call the hospital at 772-226-4846.

For now, if you are 65 or older, or have an illness or chronic condition, please stay home.

If you need need groceries or other items delivered to your home, call Blue River Delivery at 772-643-6880.
