A Vero Beach man has been arrested for indecent exposure after an incident at South Beach Park earlier this month.
Nicholas E. Wagner, 36, was taken into custody on January 21st following an investigation by the Vero Beach Police Department.
According to Police Chief David Currey, officers responded to South Beach Park on the morning of January 10, 2025, after receiving a report of a man exposing himself to a juvenile female. The victim stated that the man had been behaving strangely, repeatedly walking past her and her adult companion. He then entered the restroom and, upon exiting, stood in the doorway, exposing himself.
The victim and her friend immediately left the area, but not before the friend managed to capture photos of the suspect and his blue SUV. Using these photos and other investigative tools, detectives identified the suspect.
“It was discovered that the suspect had been previously arrested in March of 2024 and was on pretrial release for several charges of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation (12-16 yrs old). While on pretrial release, Mr. Wagner was ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor. Detectives determined that the GPS data from the ankle monitor confirmed he was at South Beach Park on the morning of January 10, 2025. An arrest warrant was obtained for Indecent Exposure,” Currey said.
Wagner was located and arrested at the Holiday Inn on 19th Lane in Vero Beach. He is currently being held at the Indian River County Jail with his bond revoked.
