SEBASTIAN – Last night, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received information about a threat on social media towards Sebastian River High School.
Detectives quickly identified a 17-year-old male former Indian River County student as a suspect in the case.
They learned the student had not attended school in our county since 2015 and now resides in Hernando County.
He was quickly taken into custody with assistance from Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
“Thanks to a multi-agency effort this young man is in custody now with charges pending. Our deputies and detectives worked all night to ensure another safe school day, just as our School Resource Team does every day. Kudos to those who brought the threat to our attention. We remind you that tips can be called into 772-978-6000.
