The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office charged a 34-year-old Sebastian man with armed robbery, grand theft, and fleeing law enforcement after pointing a gun at bank tellers at the TD Bank in Melbourne.
Bernard Rogers Jr., of the 1100 block of Barber Street, Sebastian, carried a gun into the TD Bank, 4155 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, at approximately 11:30 a.m. demanding cash.
Several witnesses told deputies a man left towards Interstate 95 after robbing the bank. A helicopter located a description of Rogers’ vehicle, and deputies conducted a traffic stop near State Road 520 approximately 30 minutes after the robbery.
Deputies would not provide further information on how much cash was taken from the bank.
Brevard County investigators say they may connect Rogers to other robberies but would not provide further details.
Rogers is currently being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail.
