GIFFORD – Last week, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about a child molestation case stemming from 2015.

Michael Stuckey, 55, plead guilty to lewd and lascivious battery on a 9-year-old. The mother of the child contacted police when she learned of the allegations.

The victim alleged that between 2007 and 2011, Stuckey sexually molested them on more than one occasion.

Detective Ross Partee worked with the family to obtain incriminating statements from Stuckey, who eventually admitted to those statements in an interview.

“This case is a great example of how cases that go unreported for a number of years can still result in justice. We are proud of the hard work of our detective bureau. Stuckey will serve his twenty-five-year sentence, day for day, because the victim was willing to stand up and help us make this case,” Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated.

Stuckey was sentenced to a twenty-five-year mandatory sentence with lifetime sex offender probation should he ever be released from prison.
