Fellsmere Police Asking for Leads in Recovered Body Case

On Saturday, a body was recovered in Fellsmere in the vicinity of N. Willow Street and New York Avenue after a resident was cleaning a vacant lot.

The Fellsmere Police Department is reporting that a medical examination was conducted on the body. 

According to Medical Examiner personnel, the body is estimated to have been at this location for approximately three to six weeks, and the race and gender of the person are still undetermined. 

No signs of trauma were observed on the body.

Investigators are conducting interviews in the community and with businesses to determine any additional leads while waiting on the toxicology report and processing other evidence.

The Fellsmere Police Department has no active missing person cases.
