There will be a Shoreline Restoration project at Riverview Park on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Join the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) and the City of Sebastian (Sustainable Sebastian Program) in protecting and restoring our waterways.
How Can You Help
- Build Breakwaters – Unload/move reef balls (~50 Ibs) or assist with breakwater construction in the water.
- Plant Native Vegetation – Install native shoreline plants.
- Volunteer – Register here
Last Year
The project builds on last year’s restoration at the park. ORCA then partnered with One Lagoon, the City of Sebastian, 11th Hour Racing, and volunteers to install oyster reef ball breakwaters, native plants, and a buffered upland area designed to filter runoff and create habitat.
Since then, the team and citizen scientists have monitored the site with encouraging results.
Support from the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) made this phase of the project possible, helping us expand habitat and strengthen our living shoreline.
For more information about this project, call ORCA at (772) 562-9052.
