The Great Bike Bar-A-Thon in Sebastian has raised $1,906 for the Next Generation Veterans of Indian River County (NGVIRC).

“I’d just like to thank everybody for coming out and supporting the ride and our veterans. We’ll see you in the spring,” Christopher Russel told Sebastian Daily.

Russell has been running the Great Bike Bar-A-Thon in Sebastian for approximately 3 1/2 years.

Last Saturday, bicyclists lined up and made stops at the Pareidolia Brewing Company, Mash Monkeys Brewing Company, Capt. Butchers, Captain Hirams, Crab Stop of Sebastian, Earl’s Hideaway Lounge, Pelican Pub, and Tiki Bar & Grill.

The next Great Bike Bar-A-Thon will be in about six months.

The Next Generation Veterans of Indian River County is a group for veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other recent conflicts living in Indian River County and the people who support them.

The group meets at Vero Beach Veterans the 2nd Monday of the Month at 6:00 p.m. to share stories, have a laugh, and to discuss issues young veterans are facing in our county.
