SEBASTIAN – The rumors are everywhere in town about a new grocery store being built across from Walmart called ALDI.

The rumor started from a few people who shop at the ALDI in Palm Bay. We’re not sure if the employees at the Brevard County store started the rumor or not, but we had to investigate.

Can Sebastian handle another grocery store? We already have three Publix stores in the vicinity, a Winn-Dixie, plus a Walmart. Hey, anything is possible in this town!

So we started an investigation and contacted the public relations team at ALDI. They didn’t have a quick answer; it took a couple of days to receive the response.

“Thanks for your interest in ALDI. We’re excited to continue growing in the Treasure Coast area including our newest store location in Ft. Pierce, FL. At this time, we don’t have plans of a Sebastian store to share, but we will be sure to stay in touch if any new develops,” Chris Hewitt, ALDI Royal Palm Beach division vice president, told Sebastian Daily.
