Flood watch in and around Sebastian until Saturday

There is a flood watch in and around the surrounding areas of Sebastisn until Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The local areas include Sebastian, Fellsmere, Roseland, Malabar, Grant, Barefoot Bay, Micco, Wabasso, and Vero Beach.

“Saturated ground from previous days rainfall combined with numerous showers forecast daily through at least Saturday will bring the threat for localized flooding. Roadway travel may become restricted,” the National Weather Service said.

County officials are asking motorists not to cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
