Friday morning’s temperature was 75 degrees as of 9 a.m., and the expected high will be 82 degrees. The chance of rain will increase on Saturday.

A cold front will arrive Saturday night, bringing showers and thunderstorms into Sebastian. The expected overnight low is 47 degrees. Monday’s high will only be 69 degrees. The colder air will be with us until Tuesday.

The rain chance for Friday is 20 percent and increases to 60 percent on Saturday. New rainfall amounts to be less than a tenth of an inch, with higher amounts possible with thunderstorms. There is a higher chance of rain on Saturday night. 

Here’s a look at the daily temperatures (Highs/Lows):

  • Friday – 82/63
  • Saturday – 84/58
  • Sunday – 72/47
  • Monday – 69/49

Winds are 5 to 15 mph, but gusts as high as 30 mph are expected on Saturday and Sunday. 

Boaters

On Friday, south winds are at 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. The seas are 3 to 5 feet, with occasional seas to 5 feet with a dominant period of 12 seconds. A moderate chop on the Intracoastal waters. 

There are hazardous conditions at inlets during the outgoing tide early this morning and again from mid to late afternoon.

On Saturday, south winds are 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. A dominant period of 11 seconds. A moderate chop on the Intracoastal waters. Chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then showers are likely, and a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

On Sunday, west winds will be 20 to 25 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 7 feet. Rough on the Intracoastal waters. Slight chance of showers.

On Monday, northwest winds will be 15 to 20 knots, diminishing to 10 to 15 in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet.

Fishing

It’s snook season, and the fish are biting at the Sebastian Inlet. Several anglers tell Sebastian Daily they used live shrimp for snook and silver spoons for bluefish and jacks. Check out our latest fishing report for more information.
