Sebastian Man Uses Electric Scooter To Steal From Walmart

SEBASTIAN, Florida – A 62-year-old man was arrested after using an electric scooter to steal from the Sebastian Walmart, even though he was carrying $1,330 in cash.

The Sebastian Police Department responded to the theft at Walmart, where they saw Perry Zurfluh driving an electric shopping cart to his truck, according to the report.

Officers found the following items in Zurfluh’s possession:

  • (2) Everstart car batteries
  • (2) Bostitch drills
  • (2) Advil bottles
  • (1) Neosporin
  • (1) Gold bond spray

All items have a value of $393.56. A Sebastian Walmart loss prevention officer witnessed Zurfluh take the items and leave the store without rendering payment, the report said.

Walmart security footage showed Zurfluh taking the items and leaving the store without paying.

Zufluh was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Jail where he was charged with 1 count of Felony Grand Theft Over $300, and 1 count of Felony Theft.
