Volunteers sought for beach cleanup at Sebastian Inlet State Park

SEBASTIAN — Coastal Connections is looking for volunteers to help with a beach cleanup at Sebastian Inlet State Park on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The event runs from 9 to 10 a.m. at the tide pool, also known as the cove. Participants will meet on the north side of the park near the bathrooms.

Cleanup supplies will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection and bug repellent. Friends and family are welcome.

Those taking part should tell the park ranger at the front gate they are there for the cleanup to receive free entry. No registration is required.

The quarterly cleanups typically remove about 100 pounds of debris from the park, according to Coastal Connections. The group holds the community events every few months at coastal parks in Indian River County.
