VERO BEACH — Veterans will have a chance to sit down with others who have served at a Vet-to-Vet Café hosted by the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast on Friday, Nov. 13.
The free event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Senior Resource Association Activity Center, 694 14th St., Vero Beach. Organizers describe it as a relaxed setting where veterans can share experiences, exchange stories and have light refreshments.
VNA of the Treasure Coast is a We Honor Veterans partner and said the gathering is meant to create opportunities for meaningful connections among people who share the experience of military service.
Anyone planning to attend is asked to RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 10, by contacting Luz Molina-Lopez at 772-978-5513 or lmolina-lopez@vnatc.com.
The Visiting Nurse Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides home healthcare services throughout Indian River County. Those services include Medicare-reimbursed and private-duty nursing; home health aides; physical, speech and occupational therapy; and in-home companions.
It is also the only licensed hospice provider in the county, offering end-of-life care in patients’ homes, local hospitals, assisted living facilities and the VNA Hospice House.
In addition, the agency operates the VNA Mobile Health Clinic, which offers low-cost medical care at locations around the county, along with free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
