Indian River County Coronavirus Cases

This is an update on coronavirus cases in Sebastian, Florida. This report also contains COVID-19 data for Indian River County and Brevard County.

Starting today, barbershops and nails salons in Sebastian can reopen with “enhanced safety protocols,” according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

As Sebastian slowly reopens, please support our local small businesses and be patient with our restaurant staff.

Local:

  • Sebastian: 9 cases
  • Fellsmere: 1 case
  • Palm Bay: 49 cases
  • Malabar: 1 case
  • Grant-Valkaria: 1 case
  • Barefoot Bay: 1 case
  • Micco: 0 cases
  • Vero Beach: 78 cases

Indian River County has a population of 154,000. The patients are 49 men and 38 women between the ages of 8 to 94.

Indian River County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 100 (11 non-residents)
  • Deaths: 8
  • Tested Negative: 2,243
  • Hospitalizations: 25
  • Awaiting Results: 60

Brevard County has a population of 590,000. The patients are 152 men and 167 women between the ages of 1 to 94.

Brevard County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 330 (10 non-residents)
  • Deaths: 9
  • Tested Negative: 11,801
  • Hospitalizations: 50
  • Awaiting Results: 1

The total number of cases, deaths, and people who have tested negative in Florida.

Florida

  • Cases: 40,596 (1,082 non-Florida residents)
  • Deaths: 1,721
  • Tested Negative: 498,352
  • Hospitalizations: 7,171

Here’s some data on the number of new cases per day in Florida:

  • 5/1 – 716 cases
  • 5/2 – 634 cases
  • 5/3 – 774 cases
  • 5/4 – 576 cases
  • 5/5 – 585 cases
  • 5/6 – 634 cases
  • 5/7 – 353 cases
  • 5/8 – 788 cases
  • 5/9 – 725 cases

So far, the new cases in Florida peaked on April 2nd at 1,292 and April 3rd with 1,314 cases.

Sebastian

Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Hospital, is providing drive-through testing by appointments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. To make an appointment, call the hospital at 772-226-4846.

For now, if you are 65 or older, or have an illness or chronic condition, please stay home.

If you need need groceries or other items delivered to your home, call Blue River Delivery at 772-643-6880.
