According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call at the 800 block of Oriole Circle last Sunday at 4:12 p.m., in reference to a man dancing naked in the street.
The individual, identified as 23-year-old Luis Giraldi Baez, caused a stir among residents and was asked to leave a neighbor’s property in Barefoot Bay. However, rather than departing, he took to the streets, where his nude actions disturbed the peace and decency of the community.
Upon the deputies’ arrival, Giraldi Baez was found on a screened porch of the reported address, still without clothes. Despite attempts to communicate with him, the deputies smelled the odor of alcohol whenever he spoke, and other signs of intoxication. The situation escalated when the suspect, after he was asked to dress, balled up his fists and aggressively advanced toward the deputies.
Deputies say his behavior compromised their safety and that of the community. While attempting to detain Giraldi Baez, he resisted arrest. Throughout the encounter, he remained combative, posing challenges to the deputies’ attempts to resolve the situation safely.
Giraldi Baez now faces charges related to indecent exposure, resisting arrest, and potential assault, pending further investigation. He was transported to the Brevard County Jail, where his bond was set at $2,750.
