A Barefoot Bay woman was arrested Thursday after she was caught using drugs inside a bathroom stall at a Publix store in West Melbourne.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the store contacted law enforcement to report the illegal activity.

Deputies later identified the woman as 38-year-old Stephanie Lee Ann Hanscome of Barefoot Bay.

“Upon search of her bags, I located 2.2 grams of a brown sticky substance that later field-tested positive for Fentanyl. When asked for identification, Stephanie provided a Florida Identification Card that did not belong to her and insisted that was her,” the deputy said.

However, the deputy located a Visa debit card and used that to verify her real name.

Hanscome was transported to the Brevard County Jail, where her bond was set at $5,500.
