BAREFOOT BAY – A young boy, between the age of 4-6, was found wandering alone on Hyacinth Cir. by a couple that was taking a walking in Barefoot Bay on Sunday morning.

According to a witness the young child was wearing red pajamas and slippers and asking for his Papa Joe.

The Brevard County Fire Rescue reported the lost child at approximately 8:30 am. Firefighters were able to locate the child’s guardians with help from neighbors in Barefoot Bay.

The young child was promptly returned to his family.

“Thank you to the couple who reached out to this little guy. Got to be scary for him, and going to be even more frightening for his poor family when they discover him gone,” a resident stated on a Barefoot Bay Facebook page.

“The child was unharmed and BCFR units went back in service following the reunion,” the Brevard County Fire Rescue said.
