The Recycling Club of Indian River County is pleased to announce that applications for its June 2026 College Scholarship Program will be available online throughout the month of June.
The Cynthia Bohannon $1,000 College Scholarship and the Smith Construction $500 College Scholarship are designed to support graduates of Sebastian River High School.
The Cynthia Bohannon College Scholarship
The Cynthia Bohannon $1,000 College Scholarship will be awarded to a 2026 Sebastian River High School graduate who plans to attend a Florida college full-time, in-person (non-virtual) beginning in Fall Semester 2026 (August 2026).
It is named in honor of Cynthia Bohannon, a dedicated member of the Indian River County School District (IRCSD) community. Cynthia attended IRC schools, worked in the district’s cafeteria, and has remained deeply involved in supporting students, families, and staff. Her children graduated from IRCSD, and her grandchildren are currently attending
schools in the district.

The Smith Construction College Scholarship
The Smith Construction $500 College Scholarship is open to Sebastian River High School graduates from 2021-2025 who are currently attending a Florida college full-time, in-person (non-virtual), beginning in the Fall Semester 2026 (August 2026).
Applicants must have completed at least one full-time year of college and have no more than three years of college enrollment.
The scholarship is named in recognition of the Smith family, known for their long-standing involvement in youth programs, including the local rowing community, and their continued support of students, families, and schools in Indian River County.
Their commitment spans generations, with children and grandchildren participating in IRCSD schools.
