The Sebastian River High School is currently on a Code Red Lockdown. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office told Sebastian Daily that there is an “active situation” at the present time.
Officials are asking everyone to stay clear of the high school until further notice.
“The school has been placed on lock down while we search the campus after a reported threat,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
No shots have been reported fired. No injuries reported.
Possible armed student with a knife on campus. One student in custody.
A CODE RED alert indicates a potential or immediate threat within the building or on the campus and is the signal for a full scale lockdown of all classrooms. All students and all staff remain in or enter the nearest space and all classroom doors are locked.
Sebastian Daily will update when we have more information.
