Fellsmere Police to Host Free ‘Cops and Bobbers’ Fishing Event

FELLSMERE — The Fellsmere Police Department will host a Cops and Bobbers Fishing event for children on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Fellsmere Stormwater Park. It aims to introduce local youth to the fun and responsibility of fishing.

Kids will learn basic fishing skills. These include knot tying and handling a rod and reel. Law enforcement officers will teach the lessons. All equipment will be provided.

A lunch from Marsh Landing will be served during the event. Spots are limited, so registration is required. Call (772) 571-1360.

Event Schedule

• 8:00 am to 8:30 am: Check-in
• 8:30 to 9:00 am: FWC/FPD
• 9:00 am  to 9:15 am: Fishing clinic – Children walk to fishing stations
• 9:15 am to 11:15 am: Children fish with law enforcement (one officer per two kids)
• 11:15 am to 11:30 am: Children receive lunch from Marsh Landing
• 11:30 am to noon: Explore law enforcement vehicles (FWC boat, trailer, ATVs, ambulance, fire truck)
