During the last City of Sebastian Council Meeting, on July 14, 2021, the council approved a 5-year agreement with the Rotary Club of Sebastian to have an annual 4-hour Sebastian Brewfest at Riverview Park.

Rotary Club member Marc Gringas has been working closely with City Manager Paul Carlisle and Leisure Services Director Brian Benton to work out the details. The Rotary Club has agreed to be responsible for the cleanup, so the city does not have any added expenses for their employees.

The Brewfest will be Saturday, December 4, 2021, following Friday’s Christmas Parade and Annual Tree Lighting. The Rotary Club will be selling tickets, as space is limited. Tickets are expected to be $35.00 per person for unlimited tasting. In addition, they plan to sell pints, limited craft brew, and regular beer.

Sebastian residents can expect food trucks, adult games, and tasty craft beer from local breweries: Pareidolia Brewing Company & Mash Monkeys Brewing Company, as well as approximately 25-30 other Florida brewers.

The City of Sebastian will receive 25% of the Proceeds

The Rotary Club of Sebastian will be giving the City of Sebastian 25% of the proceeds from this event which they will use to help improve Riverview Park, which includes:

  • The Park Itself
  • Overflow Parking
  • The Splash Pad
  • The Veteran’s Memorial
  • The Boat Trailer Parking Lot
  • Parking East of Indian River Drive

The Rotary Club of Sebastian is no stranger to putting on festivals in Sebastian. For example, every year, they are responsible for our annual ShrimpFest & Craft Beer Hullabaloo.

“These are stand-up individuals who have worked on the shrimp fest, and they know what they are doing. I think we should utilize the park and provide as many of these as we can do, and especially a one-day event at this time of year. Heck yeah, let’s go forward,” Vice Mayor Jim Hill stated during the meeting.

The City Council unanimously were in favor of this festival moving forward.

“Another great event for our residents to enjoy,” Councilman Fred Jones told Sebastian Daily.
