MELBOURNE — Florida families can head to the Brevard County Zoo for free this spring. Children ages 3 to 18 will receive free admission on May 22, 26, and 27 when a paying Florida resident adult accompanies them.
The offer lets one adult buy a ticket and bring up to three children at no extra cost. Only Florida residents may take part. All adults must show proof of residency with a state-issued photo ID or a utility bill listing their address, along with a matching photo ID.
Zoo officials said the deal cannot be combined with other discounts, such as reciprocal membership programs. Other limits may also apply.
The special days fall near the end of the school year and Memorial Day weekend. Families across the state could use the chance for an affordable outing.
The program aims to give more Florida children a chance to see animals and learn about wildlife without high costs.
Visitors should plan ahead, as proof of Florida residency is required at the gate. Children under 3 usually enter most zoos for free, but the new offer covers older kids up to age 18.
The Brevard Zoo is a 75-acre nonprofit facility in Melbourne, Florida. It is home to more than 800 animals representing more than 170 species from Florida, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. The zoo features animal feedings, kayak tours, behind-the-scenes tours, and a train ride, along with the attraction Treetop Trek.
