SEBASTIAN — A new coffee shop and bakery is delighting locals with fresh brews, scratch-made pastries, and a menu for nearly every diet.
Owner Elizabeth Medeiros opened Brewed Sweetness in January at 11626 U.S. Highway 1, located near Hen House Eatery. She moved to Florida from Rhode Island about 10 years ago and created the spot after struggling to find gluten-free treats to enjoy with her daily coffee.
Medeiros, a self-described coffee lover, turned her dream into reality after teaming up with a local baker to offer options that welcome everyone, regardless of allergies or dietary needs.
The shop offers fresh coffee, Nespresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, matcha, chai, hot cocoa, tea, cold brew, and seasonal drinks, many of which are dairy-free. Mushroom coffee is a popular option for a gentler boost.
Fresh daily pastries include croissants, brownies, muffins, scones, banana bread, and cinnamon rolls. Many come in gluten-free, vegan, or sugar-free versions. Recently, vegan banana bread was added.
Prices are affordable; most coffees and lattes run $3.25 to $5.99, while pastries cost about $3.00 to $4.25.
The cozy shop offers comfortable seating, books, magazines, games, and outdoor space to enjoy the sun.
They are open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Saturday and closed Sundays and major holidays.
Medeiros and her team hope to create a space where neighbors sip, snack, and connect. The shop’s tagline: “coffee with a kiss of sweetness.”
