A little cloudy this morning with thunder in the far distance, but we should be seeing more sunny skies starting tomorrow for the weather in Sebastian, Florida.
We don’t think there will be much rain on Tuesday, and there will likely be an afternoon thunderstorm. The heat index will be 102 for Tuesday.
So far, the weekend looks good, with only a slight rain chance on Saturday and Sunday. But we’ll have another forecast by the end of the week to talk more about the weekend.

“Increasing moisture associated with a weak disturbance moving across Florida will lead to scattered to numerous showers and lightning storms developing across east central Florida today. The chance for storms will be highest from late morning through mid-afternoon near the coast and from mid to late afternoon across the interior,” The National Weather Service said in a statement.
The storms will be approaching from the southeast today, and the winds are out of the east. Usually, when the winds are strong enough and oppositive of approaching storms, we don’t see any rain in Sebastian. However, in this case, the winds might help bring rain this afternoon.
The winds will be out of the southeast and southwest most of the week at 5 to 15 mph. But starting Saturday through Sunday, there will be gusts as high as 20 mph.
Some afternoon thunderstorms can produce wind gusts of 40 mph near the Sebastian Inlet and the Intracoastal Waterway.
If going to the beach, there’s a threat of a rip current between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to tidal effects. To reduce your risk of becoming caught in the seaward pull of a rip current, always swim near a lifeguard and never swim alone.
