South I-95 shut down between Sebastian and Vero Beach

UPDATE: All lanes open.

A crash at the 149-mile marker on southbound I-95 has shut down the road and left drivers detouring at the Fellsmere/Sebastian exit at mile marker 156, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Southbound drivers will take County Road 512 west through Fellsmere to State Road 60 in Vero Beach, where they can then head east to get back onto southbound I-95.

The Florida Highway Patrol is on scene and is conducting the crash investigation. One driver was unresponsive and was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

Traffic on southbound I-95 will be shut down or reduced to one lane for the next several hours. The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday.
