SEBASTIAN – A tractor-trailer that overturned earlier this morning is causing delays on U.S. Highway 1.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at 7:05 a.m. where the semi overturned near the SunTrust Bank at the corner of Barber Street and U.S. Highway 1 in front of Publix.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was heading south on U.S. 1 when the tractor-trailer hit the median.
FHP Trooper Josh Gentry told Sebastian Daily that the driver was transported to a hospital with a bad arm injury. Gentry said the driver didn’t have any life threatening injuries.
The driver then over-corrected and turned a 180-degree angle before overturning, according to the FHP.
The truck was carrying large boxes of wooden spoons.
