VERO BEACH – Ronald Russell “Rusty” Garver, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce from complications resulting from Agent Orange exposure.
Rusty was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Vero Beach 60 years ago coming from Dayton, Ohio.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Air Force with the Military Police K-9 Unit.
Rusty had served as a Corrections Officer for the Indian River Correctional Institution, retiring at the rank of Sergeant after 25 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the DAV.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Anita Garver; daughter, Frances (Paul) Tomlinson, of Sebastian; son, Russell Cy Garver, of Vero Beach; and grandchildren, Madison Garver and Ethan Garver, of Vero Beach.
