COVID-19 Update for Sebastian and surrounding area

There are still new COVID-19 cases in our local area around Sebastian and Fellsmere. Indian River County is still climbing in numbers. However, a big concern right now are the number of Coronavirus related deaths going on in Brevard County

Data from the state health department shows that most people between ages 25 to 34 years old are now contracting the virus.

There are now 993 ICU beds available in Florida.

We need to come together as a community and wear masks, wash hands regularly, and practice social distancing to prevent another Florida shut down. We ask everyone to help so that we can stop the spread of COVID-19.

Local:

  • Sebastian: 218 cases
  • Fellsmere: 355 cases
  • Palm Bay: 1,106 cases
  • Malabar: 31 cases
  • Grant-Valkaria: 20 cases
  • Barefoot Bay & Micco: 11 cases
  • Wabasso: 6 cases
  • Vero Beach: 1,473 cases (this number also includes Vero Lake Estates and other rural areas near Vero Beach)

Indian River County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 2,183
  • Deaths: 38
  • Admitted to Hospital: 139

Brevard County Coronavirus Cases

  • Cases: 5,398
  • Deaths: 95
  • Admitted to Hospital: 377

  • Cases: 473,074
  • Deaths: 6,457
  • Currently Hospitalized: 8,720

For now, if you are 65 or older, or have an illness or chronic condition, please stay home. Please wear a mask if you are ill or have a health condition.
