The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County, through the generosity of the Corrigan-Goddard Foundation, gold level sponsor, and the Bernard Egan Foundation, silver level sponsor, will host the Rail Trail 5K Run/Walk in Fellsmere on Saturday, January 19th at 8AM at the North County Regional Park.

Participants will be part of the first 5K run across the I-95 Central Railroad Corridor Greenway Pedestrian Overpass. The 12-foot wide bridge connects the North County Regional Park and the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve and is the feature of the Executive Roundtable’s first annual 5K run/walk.

This inaugural event helps support the mission of the Executive Roundtable of IRC-to identify solutions that will protect and enhance the lives of Indian River County residents and their families, with an emphasis on children. The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County is a group of executive level community leaders from the school system, law enforcement, government and social service organizations. Their meetings are held the last Thursday morning of each month at the United Way of Vero Beach.

The Executive Roundtable has focused its efforts on bringing Kids at Hope to Indian River County. Kids at Hope is a national concept that inspires, empowers and transforms schools, youth-serving organizations and entire communities to create an environment and culture where all children experience success, NO EXCEPTIONS! The Executive Roundtable is also the sole sponsor of the Superintendent’s Art Gallery, an annual event hosted by the Indian River County School District, that celebrates and encourages the fine arts programs in the School District of Indian River County.

The race entry fee is $25.00 in advance and $30.00 on race day and includes a performance T-shirt. Children 9 and under are free (no T-shirt). Awards will go to the male and female winner in each age category with an additional prize package awarded to the overall male and female winner. Register and pay at Runners Depot of Vero Beach, www.runnersdepotvb.com.

For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Executive Director, Aimee Hill, at aimeehill@execroundtableirc.org.
