VERO BEACH – A Target employee was caught stealing 2 rolls of quarters and 2 PlayStation gift cards all valued at $140.00, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Tristen Keller, who worked as a cashier at the Target store, was arrested and charged with Retail Theft Sunday in Vero Beach.
A loss prevention officer for the Vero Beach store reviewed security footage taken from a camera and watched Keller steal 2 rolls of quarters from his cash register, the arrest affidavit said.
The officer then witnessed Keller ring up 2 PlayStation gift cards valued at $50.00 each at the register but failed to place any form of payment into the drawer, according to the report.
Keller then placed the gift cards into his front pants pocket.
“While speaking with the suspect, he stated that he took 2 rolls of quarters from his cash register and he also said he scanned the PlayStation gift cards without paying for them,” the officer said.
Keller was transported to the Indian River County Jail for processing.
