INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 79-year-old man faces arrest after a traffic stop on State Road 60 led deputies to marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.
Ronald Theriault of Vero Beach was taken into custody June 25, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies stopped his Chevrolet Corvette following a tip about possible illegal drug sales.
A search of the vehicle turned up more than 20 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, packaging materials, a digital scale and a Glock pistol, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Theriault admitted to possessing the marijuana and told deputies he sells it, authorities said. The Sheriff’s Office had received multiple complaints about alleged drug sales by Theriault along the State Road 60 corridor.
He is being held on a $16,000 bond.
Deputies seized the Corvette as part of the investigation.
