Storm Shutters in Sebastian and Excessive Heat Forecast

Storm shutters can be unsafe and even deadly if left in place after a storm.

The Indian River County Emergency Services Department is recommending that everyone remove their storm shutters.

“Please make the removal of your storm shutters your first priority,” the agency said in a statement.

High temperatures this afternoon are expected to range from the low to mid-90s. Heat Index values will peak today around 105-107.

Persons working outdoors will want to stay hydrated and take frequent rest breaks.
