The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of children’s cancer research grants, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at Capt. Hiram’s in Sebastian, FL on 3/19/2022, where men, boys, and women – yes, at least 5 women will shave their heads to raise money for lifesaving childhood cancer research.

To date, St. Baldrick’s of Indian River County has raised over $1.1 Million dollars by shaving over 500 heads. You can register to shave or volunteer to save the lives of countless children by visiting our web page and following the prompts: https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/IndianRiver2022.

As always, they will honor the angels and those children in remission. Special guest barbers from local salons will be on a stage shaving the heads or some very special individuals and teams that have shaved for 10 consecutive years.

There will be plenty of awards, public figures, and guest speakers in attendance. Please plan on joining this family fun event.

Every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and in the U.S., one in five kids diagnosed won’t survive. Even for kids who do survive, by the time they’re 50, more than 99% have had a chronic health problem, and 96% have experienced severe or life-threatening conditions.

St. Baldrick’s is on a mission to help give kids a lifetime by funding the best childhood cancer research, wherever it takes place. Donations raised at events like this have made it possible for St. Baldrick’s to fund more than $312 million to date. Visit Stbaldricks.org to learn more.

About St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Every 2 minutes a child somewhere in the world is diagnosed with cancer. In the U.S., 1 in 5 will not survive. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, is on a mission to give kids a lifetime by supporting the most promising research to find cures and better treatments for all childhood cancers.

When you give to St. Baldrick’s, you don’t just give to one institution – you support virtually every institution with the expertise to treat kids with cancer across the U.S. St. Baldrick’s ensures that children fighting cancer now — and those diagnosed in the future — will have access to the most cutting-edge treatment, by supporting every stage of research, from new ideas in the lab to the development of new therapies, to lifesaving clinical trials.

Join them at StBaldricks.org and help #GiveKidsALifetime.
