INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Treasure Coast Food Bank will provide free meals to children and teens this summer, in June, July, and August.
The Summer Meals Program offers nutritious food to kids 18 years old and younger. Meals will be available all summer at schools, parks, churches, libraries and community centers across the Treasure Coast.
Indian River County families can pick up a full week’s worth of meals at two Grab-N-Go sites in Fellsmere:
- Fellsmere Community Outreach and Preschool, meals will be handed out on Tuesdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The site is at 1025 W. Grant Ave., Fellsmere, FL 32948. It will operate from June 8 through Aug. 7.
- Operation Hope will offer meals on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon. That location is at 12285 County Rd. 512, Fellsmere, FL 32948. It will run from June 8 through Aug. 3.
Children must be present to get meals. If a child is not there, parents or guardians must show proof of eligibility for each child. Acceptable proof includes a birth certificate, school report card or state-issued ID.
The program aims to help families make sure children have enough to eat when school is not in session. No registration is needed for most meal sites.
For more information on all summer meal locations, families can visit the Treasure Coast Food Bank website.
