Dr. David Moore was chosen as the new superintendent for the Indian River County School District on Saturday, November 16, 2019. There were six semifinalists; however, Moore won with a unanimous vote of 5-0.
Moore is currently the assistant superintendent for Miami-Dade County public schools and has been since November of 2013. Before being the assistant superintendent, he was the administrative director at the Education Transformation Office for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Before that, Moore was the Principal of Miami Southridge Senior High School from July 2009 – August 2012, Principal of MacArthur South/Young Men’s Academy from July 2007 – July 2009, and Principal of Maimi Edison Senior High School July 2005 – July 2007.
Moore will begin his new position as Superintendent on December 2, 2019, pending background check and contract negotiations.
