The latest restaurant health inspections in Sebastian, Florida. Woody’s BBQ, Moe’s Family Deli, and Crab E Bills did well during their recent health inspections. However, Mo-Bay Grill was the only restaurant that didn’t do so well in November.

Mo-Bay Grill

Mo-Bay Grill, located at 1401 Indian River Drive in Sebastian, had 38 violations. 8 were a high priority for food temperature control, a dishwasher not using property minimum strength for sanitizer, and the inspector stopped the sale on some of the food items due to potential safety issues.

All violations were corrected while the health inspector was present.

There were some food storing issues, such as raw meat stored over cooked foods and produce in the cooler. In addition, the inspector claimed that the kitchen had a dirty microwave, a soiled can opener, a soiled ice machine, single-service articles not stored inverted or protected from contamination, an employee chewing gum while preparing food,

Most of the other violations were related to building maintenance, including standing water in the kitchen, low water pressure, a paper towel dispenser not working, a bad light fixture, and a missing drain cover.

The good news is the state health inspector made another visit three days later and found no health violations at Mo-Bay.

Crab E Bills

Crab E Bills, located at 1540 Indian River Drive inside Fisherman’s Landing in Sebastian, had 6 violations, 1 listed as a high priority for temperature control on an item stored at 66 degrees instead of the required 41 degrees. All violations were corrected while the health inspector was present.

Some basic violations include a hole in the women’s restroom near the door frame, an unsealed concrete floor in the food preparation area near the walk-in cooler, no paper towels provided at a hand sink, and water temperature not at the required 100 degrees. These are tenant-related issues.

According to the $3,000 per month lease between the City of Sebastian and Crab E Bills, the tenant “shall maintain and make all necessary repairs and alterations to the interior Leased Premises to keep the Leased Premises in good condition. LESSEE’S sole right of recovery shall be against it’s insurers for losses, or damage, to stock furniture and fixtures, equipment, improvements, and betterment. LESSEE agrees to make or contract for emergency repairs and provide protective measures necessary to protect the Leased Premises from damage and to prevent injury to persons or loss of life. LESSEE agrees to use its best efforts to insure that the Property is maintained in an attractive condition and in good state of repair.”

The Pelican Diner

The Pelican Diner, located in the Sebastian Municipal Golf Court at 100 Brush Foot Drive in Sebastian, had 10 violations, 2 were high priority for temperature control involving chicken salad that was stored at 47 degrees instead of the required 41 degrees. All violations were corrected while the health inspector was present.

The other violations were basic, involving a torn gasket on the freezer, a soiled wall at the cook line, no paper towels provided at the handwash sink behind the bar.

Bamboo Court

The Bamboo Court, located at 9623 US1 in Sebastian, had 11 violations, 2 were listed as high-priority for temperature control. All violations were corrected while the health inspector was at the restaurant.

Little Caesars

Little Caesars, located at 995 Sebastian Blvd in Sebastian, had 9 violations, with 1 listed as a high priority for temperature control. “No times set for uncooked pizzas at rack held under time-temperature for 20 minutes,” the health inspector said.

All violations were corrected while the health inspector was at the restaurant.

Khob Khun Thai Sushi

Khob Khun Thai Sushi had 16 violations, 2 were a high priority for employees not washing hands after handling soiled dishes, and raw shrimp stored at 47 degrees instead of the required 41 degrees. All violations were corrected while the health inspector was at the restaurant.

Some of the basic violations include employees eating in the food preparation area, a dirty microwave soiled in food debris, a dirty cutting board soiled in food debris, and no soap or paper towels at 2 handwashing sinks.

Most of the basic violations were for building maintenance issues, such as a damaged wall and no paper towels in the women’s restroom.

JD’s Corner Diner

JD’s Corner Diner, located 13600 US1 in Sebastian, had 11 violations, with only 1 listed as a high priority for temperature control involving 1 item. All violations were corrected.
