Learn eight easy steps to maximum memory fitness at the Total Memory Workout, presented by the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County. The free four-week class will be held Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, beginning May 10 at the North County Library, 1001 Sebastian Boulevard in Sebastian.
Designed for the cognitively well senior, the class series offers individuals an opportunity to learn about memory, a brain-healthy lifestyle, and how to practice “memorcises” to build memory muscle.
“Just as cardio and weight workouts may help you physically now and in the future, research suggests that following a brain-healthy lifestyle and performing regular, targeted brain exercises can increase your brain’s cognitive reserve,” said Courtney Sanchez, Director of Programs for Alzheimer & Parkinson Association and one of the class facilitators.
There is no charge for the class; however, individuals are encouraged to pre-register by calling 772-563-0505.
Founded in 1982, the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association offers dozens of programs and services, all free of charge, for those with memory and movement disorders, as well as their caregivers.
