Early Wednesday morning, a string of vehicle burglaries rattled residents in the 600 block of Bayharbor Terrace, prompting an arrest of multiple suspects by the Sebastian Police Department.
At approximately 5 a.m., Indian River County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Sebastian Police officers descended on the area after a homeowner reported seeing several individuals rummaging through one of their parked cars.
According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, the suspects targeted multiple vehicles in the Sebastian area, stealing wallets, credit cards, and other personal belongings. Authorities recovered masks, gloves, and a firearm in the suspects’ possession.
Thanks to the sheriff’s office’s license plate reader technology, Sebastian Police officers tracked the suspect’s vehicle and found stolen items directly tied to the burglaries. The collaborative efforts of the sheriff’s office and Sebastian Police Department led to the identification and apprehension of five suspects—three adults and two juveniles.
The adults, identified as Jayden Williams, Jaquan Jones, and Trinity Miller, face charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. The two juveniles, whose names have not been released, were also charged with burglary and conspiracy. One juvenile faces additional charges of grand theft and a minor in possession of a handgun.
Investigators have linked seven vehicle burglaries to this incident, but the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office non-emergency line at 772-589-5233.
The Sebastian Police Department praised the seamless coordination with the sheriff’s office, stating, “We would like to commend the teamwork and coordination between the Sebastian Police Department and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.”
Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and report suspicious activity promptly to prevent similar incidents.
