SEBASTIAN – Sebastian River High School senior Jamal Riggins initially committed to attend Wake Forest University upon graduating in 2017.
However, he has since decided to reopen his recruitment to receive additional offers.
Last season, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior made 4 blocks, 4 blocked kicks, 100 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception.
Last week, during the Shark’s season opener against the Titusville Terriers, Riggins started off his senior year by intercepting a pass.
SRHS Coach Kevin Pettis believes that Riggins got a case of buyers remorse and realized that he should probably take a few more offers before making his final decision.
Riggins, 17, has already received scholarship offers from Indiana, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Mississippi State among others.
Only time will tell what college this very talented young man will choose.
