VERO BEACH — Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 56 from Vero Beach and Sebastian will conduct free vessel safety checks Saturday at Condev RV and Boat Storage.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the storage facility located at 5300 85th Street (CR 510) in Vero Beach. Examiners will be on site throughout the day to inspect recreational boats.
The auxiliary said the checks help ensure vessels meet all federal and state safety requirements. Boaters can also learn about required and recommended safety equipment, increasing safety for themselves and their passengers. The service is free, fast and confidential.
“Make safety a priority. Enjoy peace of mind on the water,” the group said in promotional materials for the event.
Boaters can sign up on site or contact Thomas McCarty of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary at 401-523-2925 or tgm.uscgaux@gmail.com. They can also reach Tony Consalo, manager of Condev RV and Boat Storage, at 772-774-7976 or seagpys6198@gmail.com.
The program is part of the Vessel Safety Check initiative, a partnership between the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and America’s Boating Club. Successful inspections result in a 2026 safety decal.
The auxiliary operates under the motto “Semper Paratus — Always Ready!”
