Holiday Builders acquired by Stanley Martin Homes

MELBOURNE — Holiday Builders, the Florida homebuilder that constructs houses in Sebastian Highlands and the Spirit of Sebastian, has been acquired by Stanley Martin Homes.

The deal closed July 30, according to a company announcement Thursday. Holiday Builders is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Stanley Martin Homes, ranked the 18th-largest homebuilder in the nation.

Holiday Builders was founded in 1983 and became the country’s first employee-owned homebuilder in 1999. It currently builds in 30 Florida cities. The Melbourne corporate office is backed by regional offices in Cape Coral, Port St. Lucie, Winter Haven, Lecanto and Pensacola, covering more than 27 communities and 14 scattered-lot markets.

Stanley Martin Homes, based in Reston, Virginia, was established in 1966. It builds new homes in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Both companies cite a shared focus on craftsmanship, customer service and support for charitable groups in the communities where they build.

In Indian River County, Holiday Builders continues to build in Sebastian Highlands and the Spirit of Sebastian, the county’s first agrihood.
