Florida Power & Light helps customers who are experiencing hardship due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Since mid-March, FPL has been suspending disconnections for nonpayment while helping connect customers with financial assistance.
Customers going through a hardship, are having their late fees waived and being offered additional payment extensions to help them manage their past-due FPL balances.
“While we never want to turn the lights off for nonpayment – especially during these difficult times – we remain mindful that unpaid electric bills are ultimately paid for by all FPL customers, Florida Power & Light stated on their website.
They vow to continue to assess their COVID-19 policies to ensure that they are supporting customers experiencing hardship and balancing the needs of all of their over 5 million customers.
FPL customers who are struggling to pay their bill should call them directly at (800) 226-3545, to discuss your situation.
