Sebastian restaurant employees, who previously tested positive for COVID-19, can now return to work faster under Governor Ron DeSantis’ new guidelines.

On Wednesday, Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order to relax the requirements for restaurant workers returning to work after testing positive for COVID-19.

Under the previous executive order, restaurant employees who tested positive for COVID-19 were required to have two negative tests before returning.

Under the new guidelines, employees who test positive for COVID-19 only have to self-isolate 10 days from the first appearance of symptoms, four days less than the previous recommendation of 14 days. As long as they do not have a fever or show any new signs of COVID-19, they are good to go back to work.

The order is placing more responsibility on the restaurants to “implement employee screening protocols pursuant to guidance developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

These requirements mean that Sebastian restaurant workers can get back to work faster, as they don’t have to wait for test results to come back, which can take some time.
