Recent restaurant health inspections for July 2022

Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin Donuts

Overall, the restaurants in Sebastian maintain a healthy environment for their patrons with minimal violations. The state health inspector made a visit to four establishments.

Health inspections in Sebastian have been consistent with fewer problems than we’ve seen in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Vargas Mexican Food

Vargas Mexican Food, located at 8802 U.S. Highway 1, Suite #1, in Sebastian, received seven violations during their inspection. One of the offenses was for storing raw beef over raw shrimp in the reach-in cooler. They moved it to another location during the inspection. Other than that, things went well for them. They have never had a bad health inspection.

If you’ve never heard of them, check out our video of Vargas Mexican Food in Sebastian we did back in 2018, showing their menu options. They serve authentic Mexican cuisine that’s been the best-kept secret.

Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin Donuts, located at 900 U.S. Highway 1 in Sebastian, only had three minor violations. They were for a gap in the exterior back door and some dust on racks in a closed storeroom. Other than that, they had a perfect inspection.

Bamboo Court

The Bamboo Court in Sebastian had eight violations, the more serious being raw chicken stored over beef on sheet pans in the reach-in freezer. The inspector also found bamboo shoots sitting at the cook line wok station for 30 minutes with a temperature of 58 degrees, more than the required at 41 degrees. They corrected both problems during the inspection.

Subway

Subway in Sebastian had eight minor violations that included a missing ceiling tile above a hot water heater, a hole in a damaged wall, and water temperature less than 100 degrees at a hand washing sink. A good inspection otherwise and no high-priority violations.
