On Sunday, we stopped by the Las Tapatias Mexican Restaurant in Fellsmere to check out their menu and food. It isn’t that far from Sebastian, just down CR-512 past the I-95 overchange heading west.
Las Tapatias provides indoor and outdoor seating. They have a couple of tables outside but mostly tables and booths inside. The restaurant offers authentic Mexican dining.
The servers were friendly during our visit, and they provided us with chips & salsa. The chips are a bit thicker than what we’re used to, but they were tasty and fresh.
There are so many choices on the menu, with unique dishes, proving that we hit a great place for Mexican cuisine. Las Tapatias is a humble and clean establishment with a great atmosphere and friendly people.
I ordered the enchiladas with chicken, which comes with beans and rice. When it arrived, the display was perfect. Even the beans are authentic, and the chicken has a lot of flavors.
The dish had cheese lightly sprinkled on the top, with a lot of fresh lettuce, and the sauce was good. Each bite was enjoyable, and I can see myself returning to have this plate again.
My wife Tina ordered two different kinds of marinated pork tacos. They were both flavorful like the chicken, and they came with a delicious sauce on the side.
You have to go to Fellsmere to get authentic Mexican cuisine. The only one closer would be Vargas Mexican Food near Wabasso.
We highly recommend the Las Tapatias Mexican Restaurant if you enjoy authentic food. We plan to go back and try other items on their menu.
